When planning your special event consider wheelchair transportation for special needs guests.  You may want to consider the distance and number of out-of-town guests or local guests who need accommodation for their unique needs.  Many times, limousine companies don’t have vehicles that can transport wheelchairs.

MV-1 Limousine

Think about timing before choosing a limo company.  Use 4 months in advance as a rule of thumb for planning transportation for:

  • Weddings
  • Corporate Events
  • Festivals
  • Wedding and Baby Showers
  • Weekend getaways to Chicagoland

Many wheelchair users and their families aren’t aware of the availability of wheelchair transportation in the Chicago area.  Yelp is a good website to begin your search.  The search can help identify wheelchair transportation, but may not identify companies with wheelchair limousines, such as the MV-1 limo.

Plan to visit venues such as churches, banquet halls and restaurants before finalizing arrangements. Many claim to be ADA compliant, but are not wheelchair accessible. It helps to bring a wheelchair user to the venues under consideration. Your definition of accessible may be different than the venue management.

We have had experiences where the restrooms are not truly wheelchair accessible, forcing us to drive to gas stations that have wheelchair accessible bathrooms. It can really spoil the fun at a wedding reception!
